Meta Media

Meta Media

march 2004

The creation of a piece of art implies the choice of the medium, which already is an artistic choice. In the meta media classes students learn to integrate this choice in the artistic process. To achieve this, a theoretical framework will be presented in which (cultural-) philosophy, conceptual art and the possibilities of the new, digital media will be discussed. Next to this a wide range of old and new, simple and complex, conventional and unusual media will be studied from the point of view of applicability for the arts.
